The Vacation is Officially OVER

Well, after 8 weeks of a beach vacation, AF is mad as Hell about returning to work.

Sunday: Day 14 post ovulation = pregnancy test = NEGATIVE. After testing, I forced myself to leave the house to buy a Starbucks peppermint mocha and promptly returned to bed to drink it while watching cheesy Christmas movies.

Today: Started spotting, which amazes me given that I'm still taking progesterone as instructed (they said to keep taking it through until Day 17 - post ovulation). AF has definitely broken through - the cramps are already starting.

(Incidentally, have any of you ever heard of starting your period while ON progesterone? I'm starting to wonder if we've stumbled onto some sort of explanation...)

It's going to be a rough one.

26 cycles down.

Ugh.

Wondering if this is ever going to end.

Hi, perpetual lurker here. I have started my period while using progesterone suppositories, much to the amazement/consternation of my RE. That feat earned me injectable projesterone on my next IUI, during which I had a tiny bit of spotting. Never used to happen, but nothing my body does ever makes any sense. OK, back to lurking.

I am so sorry. I know this has been a rough cycle for you.

I took your advice and got myself a big ole white mocha today ;)

I have bled through progesterone twice and I think I am on the verge again. AF after medicated cycles SUCKS!!!

At least it is a new beginning!

I'm sorry....

AF actually arrived while I was still on progesterone injections (during our first IVF attempt) I didn't think it was possible either, until then.

I will continue to pray for God to bless you with a baby. I know how hard it is when you continue to get BFN's. Don't give up, sweetie.

Way to go with the Starbucks - that was my answer to the BFN too. Not that it helped that much, but I wanted something I'd been denying myself during the 2ww. Sorry AF is so awful - can you at least stop the shots now?! That was the worst thing I didn't know about getting a BFN, that I had to keep taking those PIO shots until I leveled out (7 days, blech). Good luck to you, hope you have a much better cycle next time!

I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself. I don't have anything to offer on the progesterone, just hugs.

I started when I was on prometrium, which is progesterone, right? I am going to mention that to my RE...you should too. Maybe you are onto something. Sorry about the ole witch showing up. Props for going out and getting starbucks....those are the things that help me through all this crap :D HUGS!!!

I'm so sorry.

And yes, I have 'broken through' while on progesterone.

Leslie,

I am so sorry your cycle didn't work. And that you had to continue the progesterone. And that AF came anyways. I tend to get AF despite prog. as well. I hope that our paths change soon. Leslies/ees united against AF from here on out!

Warmth,
Leslee

I am so sorry! It's so frustrating how our bodies don't cooperate! I hope you get your BFP very soon!!

In answer to your progesterone question YES, I always w/the exception of when pregnant start AF even while on progesterone. What worked better was an HCG booster at 7 days post ovulation--that gives me a NORMAL 14 day LP.

Sending hugs and support.

I really don't know what to say except that I am so very sorry. I will continue to pray. BTW - I have been know to turn to a good cup of Starbucks in times of distress. Kudos to you!!!

Another lurker here . . I too have started spotting while on progesterone BUT still had a positive pregnancy test (although later miscarried). Whatever you do, continue to take the meds, even it you are bleeding . . you never know. Lots of women spot throughout their entire pregnancy!
