IUI #3

Another two-week wait is officially underway.

IUI #3 went well on Sunday. We had an amazing RN. She spent the first 10 minutes post-IUI reviewing all of the things we should feel good about (i.e. thickness of my uterine lining, follicles, sperm count, etc.).

She then went through a visualization exercise about what we hope is going to be happening over the next few days (i.e. that sperm and egg are actually going to meet up down there, start dividing and find a safe spot they like in the uterine lining). And, yes, I posted the pictures she gave us on our bathroom wall.

Currently, I'm enjoying a week of no ultrasounds, no anxiously jumping out of my seat during meetings to take "the call from the clinic", no post-phone-call-breakdowns with L. and Mom and, last but not least, progesterone suppositories.

And, it just doesn't get any better than progesterone suppositories...twice a day no less.

Kidding.

If you haven't done suppositories before I have one word for you: panty liners. (Okay, that's two words.) When my RE told me that I'd be going on them, I asked him how messy they would be and he just said, "Oh, they won't be that bad." Riiiiight. Don't believe them and get some panty liners. Your panties will thank you.

ALL I CAN SAY, THE SUPPOSITORIES ARE BETTER THAN SHOTS, THAT LEAVE A KNOT THAT YOU CAN STILL FEEL IN YOUR HIPS 2 MONTHS LATER..

You sound happy and hopeful again!

I love that the nurse did a visualization with you - that is cool.

I like your perspective on the 2ww - no running to appts, bw etc... Try to enjoy it and keep busy. I'm about to join you!

I feel you sister! That's where I was last week! It is nice not having to have ultrasounds or needle sticks for that week. Enjoy it.

I'll be sending tons of implant vibes your way! I hope the wait goes very quickly. When is your beta?

oh there is something better than the suppositories. progesterone in oil is MUCH better (certainly much more painful!)

Stay sane during the two week wait. we'll keep following your posts with our fingers crossed.

I've never heard of a RN going through all the "positives" - that's totally cool! I love the visualization exercises, too. My accupuncturist did something similar, had me visualize a seed in fertile soil...growing. Kinda cool. Good luck! Yay!

I feel for you on the suppositories, I truely do. I remember feeling really weird that I wasn't poking myself with needles or going to doctor visits every day during the 2ww. I'm glad you like the change, though.
